Movie -- 2020 -- Netflix
Musical special, not the weekday episodes. Captain Barnacles, a polar bear, takes the crew to the Great Barrier Reef. Corey is a tiny coral polyp looking for a place to settle. Crown-of-thorns starfish arrive in a swarm to eat the coral. Songs, slime, pirate pies. The reef is the home they might have to leave.
Notes are based on public reviews and published descriptions. Timestamps are approximate. Not yet checked against Netflix AU.

The starfish are singing about eating the reef. Captain Barnacles is a polar bear. Kwazii is a pirate cat. Peso is a penguin medic. Corey is a coral polyp the size of a pea who wants a spot to sit. Then an outbreak of crown-of-thorns starfish -- spikes, poison, a whole choir of 'tasty reef'. Forty-seven minutes of Octonauts with more songs than a weekday rescue.
The Octo Alert siren. Corey has nowhere to settle. A spike from a crown-of-thorns (poisonous, sharp). An army of starfish sings they will eat the coral tonight. Reef neighbours panic and say they must move. Snot sea cucumbers, ink, bubble filters, pirate pies with coral slime as a decoy dinner. The swarm is turned. Corey stays.
4-6. Sit with them. Pause for the siren, the spikes, and the 'we have to leave' talk. Kind crew. A home being eaten is still a home being eaten.
7-9. Usually easy if they already like Octonauts. The swarm song can still feel like a mob. Fine to skip if coral-death talk is a lot this week.
10-12. A younger-sibling watch. The same outbreak is a real reef story dressed as a musical.
Counts are how often that theme shows up in the notes -- not when it happens.
Plan to sit with them at least until 5. After that, many families can watch with a grown-up nearby rather than on the couch. The notes above say what happens. You know your child. This is not medical advice.
