Before you press play
Soft, painterly island days. Oona looks after Baba, they practise being puffins, and the sea is nearby more than it is dangerous. The pace is slow. The load is weather, gulls, and a very small brother, not villains.
- Island nest life
- Looking after a baby sibling
- Practising new skills
- Mild weather and wildlife
What may feel big
Baba is tiny beside cliffs and water, which some children notice more than the plot. Seagulls can be sudden and loud. A short 'where did Baba go' beat and a windy shoreline can stack on a sensitive day. Nothing here is meant as a scare.
4-6. A gentle fit for most. Sit nearby if your child worries about babies near water, or startles at bird noise.
7-9. Usually easy. They may find it young; the same gulls can still be sharp.
10-12. Fine as a younger-sibling watch. Nothing here is meant to linger at bedtime.
